It’s a challenge to keep the little sKids equipped with top quality gear since they grow out of it so fast. My four and a half year old daughter had a brand new set-up last year, purchased from online retailer skiuniverse. The skis and bindings have lasted two seasons, but she grew out of her boots at the end of last year. So my wife and I did what many Skids parents do: we handed the too small boots to the next in line, in this case, our neighbor’s three year old. The same neighbor handed down their older son’s too small boots. The circle of life of little sKids ski gear. Today, as I was putting my daughter’s gear away from the last outing (which was haphazardly scattered about the garage), I noticed she was missing an in-sole in one of the boots. Apparently she’s been rocking all over the mountain this way all season. I don’t know about you, but if I had to ski one footbed short of a full deck, I probably couldn’t make it down the mountain. I’m going to correct the problem before the next day on the hill, and take better care inspecting the next set of hand-me-down gear. Hopefully she won’t hold it against me.
